This is my 1974 HQ GTS coupe. I've been fixing it up for 3 years now.
It was an original GTS coupe with original engine and 72000 orig klms when i bought it. I restored it back to a clean car where it needed a little love here and there.

Two years ago, a friend and I decided to built an drive line combination to make the car more fun to drive. All this was done while keeping in mind that at anytime it could be put back to factory specs.

No holes or original parts were ruined. All original parts that were no longer required, were removed and the new product had to fit off brackets or original holes. Some things were a bit of a challenge like fitting a ratchet shifter, gauges, etc.

The car now has a 308 engine with T350 gearbox, a salisbury differentual with one tonne axles and a mini spooled 4.44 centre.

Other things i've done are fit a custum aluminium fuel tank to allow for large diameter tail pipes, electric water pump with gilmer belts, and a pair of Vaneel Products aluminium rocker covers that hide all the good stuff.

The car is pleasure to drive when its running... but i broke the engine at the burnout competition at Easternats 2001. I had oil failure and only now in August 2002 is the car about to be ready to go cruising again. I hope to meet up with some other Monaro owners for a drive on a nice summers day.Theres always a nice country or beach side road in Melbourne to see.
